During renovations of the men’s basketball coach offices, Nick Havis, associate director for facilities, operations and events focused on finding a Karndean flooring product that would hold up to the high traffic levels typically seen within the athletic department offices. Havis picked Karndean since it was previously specified in other buildings on The University of Maryland campus. The black and gray hues of Van Gogh Ebony not only complemented the university’s iconic black, red and yellow branding, but its natural feel and texture created a more casual and welcoming space for staff and students. The product’s 20mil wear layer is tough enough to handle the foot traffic while remaining easy to clean.
