Conserving natural resources
The principles of sustainability run through every stage of our business, from design to end-of-life. We focus on using resources responsibly, creating durable products and giving waste products a new lease of life wherever possible.
Design and materials
Our products are made with recycled content and built to last, backed by a lifetime residential or up to 20 year commercial guarantee. This longevity reduces the need for replacement and minimises environmental impact.
Manufacturing
The backing layer of our flooring contains as much as 50% recycled PVC from production waste. All our operational waste is diverted from landfill and converted to energy recovery, making our processes more efficient and sustainable.
Distribution and use
Durable flooring means that customers benefit from long lasting high performance and a lower overall lifecycle impact.
Circular return
We run a sample return service to reduce waste. Every returned chip sample is re-used or recycled, generating a donation for our charity of the year, Shelter. Excess flooring is also donated to Shelter for reuse.
Installation
Our take-back scheme collects clean offcuts from home development and commercial project sites to be recycled into items such as traffic cones and street furniture. So far, 100% of our operation waste is diverted from landfill and used as waste to energy.
"Diverting our LVT waste from landfill is a big step towards greener site practices.” Louise Walters, commercial director at Designer Contracts.
