Dementia Friendly Flooring

Designed for wellbeing

Create calm, familiar environments with flooring inspired by natural wood and stone. Considered patterns, subtle tonal variation and consistent designs can help minimise visual stimulation while creating warm, welcoming spaces.

Considered design

Flooring can influence how a space is perceived and navigated. Our DSDC accredited Opus designs have been assessed with dementia-friendly principles in mind, considering pattern, contrast, tonal variation and visual consistency.

Performance and practicality

Designed for demanding commercial environments, Karndean flooring combines durability with easy maintenance. Selected designs offer 36+ slip resistance, while our commercial ranges provide waterproof, hygienic surfaces and warranties of up to 20 years.

DSDC accreditation

Selected Karndean flooring designs have been accredited by the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC) at the University of Stirling. The collection offers carefully considered wood, stone and terrazzo designs for dementia-inclusive environments.
